Common Nexsan FAQ's:
- Firmware - Nexsan has configurable SCSI, Fibre, and ATA Controllers built into their RAID array's please ensure that you are on the mos recent revision of firmware before you start troubleshooting the problem. All current revisions can be seen at www.nexsan.com. If you require a more recent revision of firmware from Nexsan please contact Nexsan or Austor.
- Drive Upgrade - Nexsan will not ship nor sell empty HDD (Hard Disk Drive) bays/sleds. The reason is warranty. Nexsan do not have the ability to regulate the warranty of existing systems that are in the field. This matter can be taken up with Nexsan directly email support@nexsan.com
- Lost IP Address or Password - if you do not have DHCP (Dynamic Host Config Protocol) enabled and you have lost communication with the Nexsan storage array, you need to reset the device back to it's original configuration (this will not erase any array). The process is called 'booting into Gleaning Mode'. By booting into gleaning mode you can set the unit back to it's default IP address (10.11.12.13) or you can set up ARP (Address Resolution Protocol). All of this information can be found in the manual.
