UDO Desktop Drive |
UDO drives are engineered specifically for the demanding requirements of professional archival storage environments. Extremely high duty cycles provide you with reliable and long-term use. And rapid seek times and fast read/write speeds ensure access to your valuable archive data in seconds.
Plasmon offers both Internal Drives for use in automated libraries, and stand-alone Desktop Drives for small businesses and individual departments. Both models are available in first generation 30GB UDO1 and second generation 60GB UDO2 configurations.

Features and Benefits
Performance Optimized for Archiving: The access and read/write performance of UDO drives is optimized for archive requirements. A 35 msec seek time combined with a maximum sustained read speed of 12 MB/sec delivers very fast random access to your data.
Simple Integration: UDO drives use an industry-standard half-height form factor. They offer simple integration into robotic libraries and computer systems as either an Internal Drive or a stand-alone Desktop Drive.
Unmatched Media Longevity: UDO media are designed for a 50+ year life minimizing data migration frequency, virtually eliminating media maintenance, and lowering costs.
Investment Protection: UDO drives provide backward-read compatibility, with a roadmap to 240GB. UDO2 drives can read UDO1 30GB media.
Flexibility: UDO drives support both WORM and Rewritable UDO Media formats in a single library or appliance.
